Before I get started, I should warn you that this post is about last night's episode of Veronica Mars, and although by current estimate this blog has approximately two readers (plus or minus 2), I wish to warn all of you that the text that follows will contain spoilers. So.. watch out.
So the writers got gutsy last night. They've taken the first steps towards getting Logan over Veronica, and they killed off Sheriff Lamb. Overall, I think these were good moves. First, all the Logan/Veronica relationship drama was moving the show in a really silly direction. There may be a lot of teenagers out there who disagree with me, but I personally could do without all the LoVe. (That said, the writers are probably just setting things up for some emotional reunion later in the year, but at least we're getting a momentary reprieve.)
Second, As a result of Lamb's death, Keith has been appointed interim Sheriff, and while I thought he looked really silly in the uniform, the new role might freshen the show up a little bit. Really, my only problem with getting rid of Lamb is that they should have done it sooner.
Without completely spoiling season 2, let me just say that I thought the ending was really really terrible. The killer they "revealed" just didn't make any sense at all, and by screwing up the resolution of the season-long mystery, they pretty much ruined the whole season for me. At the time, I thought the bold choice for last season's killer would have been Sheriff Lamb. Making him the culprit would have been really unexpected, but it wouldn't actually have been that much of a stretch. Also, he would have made a much more satisfying villain than the one they chose instead, and his death/capture would have really shaken things up in an interesting way. At the time I assumed he wasn't really a serious option, since I figured he was too important to the show. But if they were willing to kill him off halfway through season 3, then I guess the writers weren't too attached to him after all.

I meant to ask you if you still watch Veronica Mars. I FINALLY found out who killed Lily Kane a month ago (I found a few of the 1st season episodes online). LoVe .... awww Michael you have a soft Hallmark-y side to your personality!

You should really be watching this show, Nisha. But don't worry about catching up on season 2. The only way I've been able to keep watching the show is to pretend like last season was all just some crazy dream Veronica had.
